Cobra Breath

About the Painting
For the past years I have been meditating almost every day doing a Kriya Jyoti Tantric Yoga. A few months after I first began this path, I was invited to take the next step in the Tantric Breath Practice and learn the Cobra Breath.
The night I learned the breath, I was filled with this vision. The meditating figure is disintegrating into smoke and out of that two cobras arise repressing the kundalini (Ida and Pingala) moving up the spine.
As the Kundalini moves upwards you see a bird taking flight. This represents the soul and its ability to more towards higher planes of consciousness, exploration and freedom. It is the symbol of one’s life gaining velocity.
The figure is sitting in a redwood forest. While they are surrounded by old growth trees, they sit in front of a sampling. Symbolically this represents the idea that all grand things have small begins and that a single thought seed may blossom into a grounded tree.
A little change in my daily routine has had mind blowing ripples in my life. It hasn’t always been easy and oh how life has presented me with obstacles to learn from, but I would not change it.
